I’m very happy to shout that I’m an unashamed train geek, I love trains, I love the opportunity they offer, the simplicity of them and the wonder that I had as a child dreaming of where we’d go that day.
Its for this reason that I actively choose to travel by train through rather than over numerous countries in the world.
Some of my train experiences have been a little rough and ready, such as squeezing into a cabin with some Mongolian traders as we crossed the Steppe on the Trans Mongolian in Winter. Its subjective of course, but for me the top 5 are as follows.

At almost 100 years of age the route is both steeped in history, but also in luxury and excitement, an intoxicating blend.
