Angkor Wat – Cambodia
Literally only discovered in the last few hundred years after the jungle reclaimed it, Angkor Wat is one of the finest collections of temples from the Angkor dynasty to have been uncovered and preserved. The combination of different temple complexes is just intoxicating from Tah Prohm and its amazing tree rooted structures to the intricate sandstone carvings of Apsaras at Bantreay Srey, a visit here will uncover exotic and fascinating culture and history with every turn.
Great Wall of China – China
One of the most impressive defensive military constructions ever made, and more so for when it was built and with the visions of imminent mongol attacks to contend with.
Trekking the wall can be easily done, but some of the sections are completely maincured and un-authentic, travelling with Eloura will unwrap the lesser explored corners of the wall, that are still accessible from Beijing. I even walked part of it on Christmas Day, that was a superb present.
Taj Mahal – India
One of the most iconic buildings on earth and you can almost be forgiven for feeling you know what its all about before you arrive, but I can promise you there is nothing like seeing the dawn lights shimmer on the facades that Shah Zahan built for his deceased wife, or even more uniquely see it from a different angle of the city when you watch the sunset from the Red Fort, Eloura clients will receive all the best options, but my personal favourite is waking up at my favourite Indian Luxury hotel with a window that overlooks the world heritage site. Not a bad place to eat your breakfast.
Machu Pichu – Peru
Whether you choose the 4 day trek or the slightly more leisurely Hiram Bingham Belmond train the one of the most incredible sights on earth, Machu Pichu never fails to shock in both its location and majesty about how on earth it was even created. Climbing Wayna Pichu is an added bonus for those who are fit, as the views I can assure are worth the steep climb, but even if you just do Machu Pichu a soak in some exclusive thermal springs after will ease any aching limbs before stepping back and just staring at one of the new wonders of the world.
Serengeti National Park – Tanzania
Glorious in its vastness, marvelous for its flora and fauna and simply unparelled for the migration, the wildlife and safari options here are just unbelievable. Seeing a pack of 13 lions myself padding through the National Park as storms formed behind them was a unforgettable memory and one Eloura clients will be able to recreate with our tailored luxury safari options.
Combining with the Masai Mara in Kenya or perhaps a climb up Kilimanjaro will add to the wonder, or perhaps a dip in the Indian ocean is required after such visual stimulation.
