Uncover the history of the eternal city from a 19th Century palace
A collection of peaceful havens in Rome’s city centre welcomes guests with views of Michelangelo’s ancient Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, while the rooftop area is filled with green indoor and outdoor areas, a scenic pool and a buzzy, youthful atmosphere. In the Spa, expert therapists draw on the healing traditions of ancient Rome, holistic Ayurvedic rituals and exotic Asian treatments with a deep knowledge of wellness and beauty.

Whether you chose to explore Rome on a Vespa or tick off the sights on your morning run with an expert personal trainer and historian as a guide, our in-depth knowledge and passion for the most authentic experiences will provide you with bespoke local adventures and off-the-beaten-track adventures.
A few steps from your hotel will lead you to the train station – a high-speed train will whisk you from Rome to Naples in little more than an hour, before your private transfer by road to the Amalfi Coast. This takes approximately 90 minutes and the famous coastal road is an attraction in itself, carved out of steep cliffs with hundreds of winding bends and dozens of little tunnels.
Stay in a 13th Century Capuchin Convent overlooking the Mediterranean
The Anantara Convento di Amalfi sits high above the town of Amalfi – there are steps leading down to the harbour where you can catch a ferry to Positano and Capri, but before that, enjoy the view from the ‘Monk’s Walk’ which runs along the length of the pale, sand-hued monastery. Shaded by bougainvillea and surrounded by flower, shrub and herb-filled terraced gardens, it is where the monks would have come for a moment of quiet reflection to the backdrop of the sparkling sea far, far below.
Many of the 52 rooms and suites were once the monks’ quarters, with original vaulted ceilings, intricate tiles, and occasional frescoes, seamlessly blended with a contemporary-luxe aesthetic. Dark wood furnishings, and a minimalist, elegant style enhance the serene atmosphere. Modern comforts include Nespresso machines, tea and coffee trays, luxurious bed linens, and designer pieces from Gervasoni and Cassina. Marble-clad bathrooms feature plush towels, sumptuous robes, and indulgent Aqua di Parma amenities.

The views are nothing short of breathtaking, overlooking the cloisters, gardens, Amalfi, and the Gulf of Salerno. Top-floor Junior Suites offer private terraces with hot tubs, while the secluded Suite dell’Eremita, set amidst a fragrant lemon grove, ensures total privacy.
While there are plenty of well known attractions in the area, let us show you something different, with local hiking trails – the hotel is open all year, so plan a break in Spring or Autumn to enjoy lower temperatures. Walk through olive and lemon groves to charming villages and enjoy spectacular views, before taking part in a private cooking class or wine tasting. Discover the history and technique behind making authentic mozzarella or select the most delicious lemons to make homemade limoncello.
