My Journey in travel began with expeditions around Snowdonia as a child and evolved into trips up Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp and exploring Patagonia.  

I’m an absolute adventurer and love the feeling of being somewhere remote, beautiful and somewhere that challenges me in any way.  

My world revolves around my two beautiful daughters, and my fascination embeds, in partly opening their eyes to the world, but also in the lessons they can teach me about the way they view this incredible planet we call home.  

I’ve worked in travel for a range of luxury operators over 20 years and have lived and travelled through over 65 countries…..so far!  

Argentina – Is by far my favourite country. Mountains, steak and a passionate people, what’s not to love (apologies vegetarians), but I’ve been many times and just adore the culture and topography of one of the most diverse countries on the planet, luxurious lodges combine with reclaimed palaces and world famous cuisine to blend for an intoxicating mix, it’s a superb country for so many different reasons.  

Laos – A country that is so relaxed, I’m not sure if you know you are awake or in a dream? The tranquil pace and lack of infrastructure makes for a wonderfully relaxed and gentle travel pace. Luang Prabang is one of my favourite travel destinations on earth, temples merge into palaces merge into monkey infested jungle merge into world class dining, it’s a beautiful place and one to enjoy before it gets too developed.  

New Zealand – Living in a country gives a different perspective, you know the nuances of the humour, the food and the language and I loved Aotearoa even more for all of it. My love of Fjordland and Mt Aspiring National park literally mean I could go and live in a lodge with a  view for the rest of my days and be very happy indeed! The Food and drink….I mean…the food and the drink, with such a controlled environment, the quality is second to none and elements like NZ lamb and its wines are arguably regarded as some of the finest on the planet, match those degustation elements with whales breaching in front of your Sauvignon blanc and what is there not to fall in love with?
